Implementation:
In a mixed operation of IPBS2 & 3 in one system, it is mandatory to update the firmware to V11.
- The IPBS3 is compatible with IPBS2 and possible to use in existing systems with IPBS1, IPBS2, IPBL1 and IPVM.
- The form factor/housing is identical to IPBS2, but a new more environmental friendly plastic material will be used.
- New material will be PC-ABS
- Previous material was ABS and that required use of (toxic) flame retardants
- The IPBS3 will require new SW (11.1.5 or later)
- For existing systems an IPBS3 can be added as radio to systems on SW version 10.0 or later without need to upgrade the complete system. (The IPBS3 must run on 11.1.5 or later.)
- If an IPBS3 shall be added to an existing system and be used for any master function, the complete system needs to be upgraded to 11.1.5 or later.
- New HS software is required when used in systems with IPBS3 to fix an issue with a chop-sound
- d43, d63 - 2.9.6
- d81 - 4.11.6
- Hotfix for d41, d62 – 4.8.19
- This chop-sound can be heard when connected to an IPBS3 system and the call is established with the narrowband audio codec – for instance when a call is made from/to a client connected to a system not supporting the wideband audio, such as a fixed phone, an external telephony system or an older IPDECT system
- The problem happens when connected to an IPBS3:
- once every minute if early encryption is enabled in the system
- on every handover regardless of early encryption setting
